Well, sometimes surprises happen in life.
And sometimes those surprises happen in the form of a baby.... And you realize that holy crap, you are not anywhere near prepared in any way, shape, or form to take care of a small human.
But then.... even with all of the throwing up, exhaustion, and fear it's all so much fun and worth it when those little flutters happen! (although I could do without the expanding waistline... yikes!)
(don't mind my awesome appearance... it was a long day of emotions...)
So, one night I couldn't sleep because I couldn't shake the feeling that I was pregnant... Even though I KNEW there was no way that I could be... A baby was definitely not in 'the plan'. So, that morning I found an old pregnancy test (I think it may have even been from a gag gift wedding present), and took it.
Then refused to look at it.
Finally I glanced at the test and could barely make out a second line. It was so faint I almost thought I was making it up. But, tears immediately came, and I immediately had to wake Ammon up to come look at the test.
Of course Ammon took one look at it and just said "I think it's only a positive if the second line is as dark as the first one"... and immediately went back to sleep.
Ha!
But after a few more tests there was no denying it.... Baby Cunningham was on his/her way!
(Ammon thought it would be funny to take a picture of his "cute little pregnant wife" while we were at the pumpkin patch using the pumpkins as the stomach.... surprise surprise! I really was his "cute little pregnant wife" when we took this...)
Then, at 10 weeks we finally told our families at Christmas!! Woo-hoo! This baby will be the 3rd grandchild on the Cunningham side, and first on my side! :)
Then yesterday we had THE ultrasound. You know, the one where the super important stuff is discussed. ;)
And....
It's.....
A....
(If you can't tell by the tutu and pink... it's a girl!!)
We are so so so excited! And I am honestly shocked! I really did sort of think that it was going to be a boy.... Like a lot. Although Ammon claims to have thought it was a girl the whole time.
Apparently his maternal instincts are better than mine. ;)
So, baby GIRL Cunningham will be joining the family around July 21st!!
Yay for being super pregnant during million degree weather! Woo!
:)
