So... Sometimes I fail at blogging!

Alright, so when I started this blog I knew I wouldn't be very good at updating it. I've started enough journals in my life to know that I'm not very good at keeping up w anything even remotely similar to writing down my life details. I think that the last time I wrote in my journal was before I MET Ammon.

Yeah.... Epic fail.

Sadly, nothing super awesome has happened in our lives recently. The Internet is still not working at our apartment (I'm currently blogging from my phone), I've been spending my days teaching in the 4th grade at Scera Park Elementary! :) sadly I only have 2 more days left w them. :( but then I'm back again in January! Woo-hoo!

We celebrated Ammon's birthday this past weekend! He's the big 23 now! (gosh, he is old... Poor kid) sadly, we spent most of his birthday with him at work and me at school.. Then we had my grandma's viewing that evening. But! We did manage to sneak over to Red Robin for dinner. (on Ammon's 21st birthday I took him to Red Robin because he had never been there!)

Besides that we haven't really been up to much... We're really rather boring people! Stoked for Thanksgiving this week though (and for the 5 day weekend)! Also, counting down the days til Christmas-Palooza... Yeah, that's what we are calling it this year. It's gonna be good. Hopefully. ;)

This is a test...

So... I just wanted to see if I could figure out how to post from my phone!

Have a good day! :)

Happy Anniversary to US!

Seriously, how have we been married for a year already? It flew by. If every year goes this fast I will be 87 before I know it.

Honestly, I can't even imagine being married to anyone more perfect for me than Ammon. I seriously love him so much! He's my best friend, we even have the Best-Friend-Panda-Key-Chains to prove it.

He's the greatest!! He cooks 99.9% of the meals at our house (one day I really will learn to cook! I swear), he lets me hog all of the blankets at night (as long as his feet can be under the covers), he'll even wake up in the middle of the night to get me a glass of water when I'm sleep talking about wanting a drink, he watches Desperate Housewives with me and actually enjoys it, he doesn't complain when I choose to listen to Christmas music in September, he listens to me talk and complain about the exact same things over and over again, he doesn't care that my clothes take up 85% of our closet (even though he jokes about throwing them all away), and a million other things that I just love about him!

Anyway, what we did for our anniversary!!

The night before our actual anniversary we went to the temple with Ammon's parents and brother! :) I love going to the temple, and it was fun going with the Cunningham clan! (at least those that are in the state of Utah). After the temple we all went to dinner at some fun Mexican restaurant. (The one with all of the guacamole in case you're reading this Ariel).

Also, for our anniversary dessert we got this rice/pudding/tapioca/cinnamon thing! (I really have no clue what it was)
P1010287

Now for the actual day! :)

Ammon planned the day for us, and it was fabulous! It was nice and chill and so fun just spending the day together.

The morning started out with him surprising me with Starbucks in bed, which let's be honest, is the greatest way to start your day! Mmmm.... Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate!
P1010288
(Please don't judge my appearance... I had just woken up. So this is me in my no make-up, crazy haired glory!)

P1010290

Then we got ready and headed up to Salt Lake to go to the Apple store because my phone had been having some serious issues! While up there we stopped and ate at Thaifoon (I think that's how they spell their name...?) and had some awesome fake Asian food.
P1010291
Deeeee-licious!

While we were at the restaurant Ammon let me open my gifts!! Although he had already told me that they were the wrong kind and we would have to send them back.... I opened them up and they were iPhone cases, but they were for the iPhone 4 and they wouldn't fit my iPhone! :( Lame! But they were still cute, Ammon has great taste in iPhone cases. haha!

After that Ammon realized he 'forgot his keys' at the Apple store... so back we went! I started to play with the iPads while Ammon found his keys and while I was playing a super intense game of Flight Control (yeah Erin!) he plopped an iPhone 4 in front of me!!

Woo-hoo!!! Best Anniversary present ever! We have a love of Apple things and we had totally been wanting the new iPhone, so I was so excited to get them!! And yes, they rock just as much as I was hoping!!
P1010296

(and I can now use my new iPhone cases!)

Overall it was a great Anniversary!!! Thanks so much Ammon for making it such a great day!! I can't wait to have a bajillion more anniversaries with you! Don't worry, I'll make next years celebration super fantastic!

I love you Ammon... even if I currently owe you 659 minutes of foot rubbing...

For Danielle!!!

Well, apparently I'm a bad blogger! At least that's what Danielle tells me!

I want to blog about our anniversary, but I'm on the school's computer and I want to add pictures from the big day!

So, that'll have to wait til Thursday when our internet is fixed! (Hopefully, cross your fingers for that one!)

Hmmm... I feel as if I should fill this blog post with SOMETHING awesome, rather than just blogging about how I'm going to blog later. That makes me seem super lame.

Danielle, you'll probably be the only one who reads this post... so remember that time you got your wisdom teeth out?! And I totally offered to drive you home because I knew it would be hilarious and it WAS. You could barely walk and I couldn't stop laughing... so I wasn't really much help. Then you saw your distorted face in the paint of my car and started crying because you looked fat and everyone kept lying to you when they were telling you your face looked normal. hahahaha!

And then I could barely drive straight because I was laughing so hard I was crying only because you were SOBBING the whole 20 minute ride home about how you couldn't believe I was so cruel as to lie to you about not being fat. Your face was BARELY swollen, but you were positive that the world was ending due to your fat face and that everyone in your life was just a bunch of liars. I've never seen you cry so much in my life.

hahahaha!

Also, remember that time when we were seriously PISSED at each other at the high school? It was like Saturday and we were sitting on the grass with our massive fountain drinks. What were we doing there? (Oh yeah, dad was helping to build my Drill Team props! Thanks dad!) Somehow we ended up getting into an actual fight... and one thing lead to another and I poured my Diet Coke all over you, and then you poured your Coke all over me...

That was lovely!

Then we ended up almost killing each other in the halls of the high school... I think the only thing that stopped us was the fact that the bus full of choir kids pulled up to the school. So we both just stopped what we were doing, and marched our soda drenched bodies out the front door, past the choir kids, and to my car with as much dignity as we could possibly muster.

We had such good times... most of them involving being mean to each other! Remember the 'Scary Rock'? hahahaha! Best day of my life!

I love you Danielle!! I hope Cedar is treating you well. One day I'll drag my butt down there and visit you. Maybe. It's sorta far! Or come up to Orem. It's better (but only barely...) I'll even let you sleep in Brenner's bed. ;)

YES!!!

Ammon is coming home!!!

He is currently in the air and roughly one hour away from the good ol' SLC International airport.

Yesssssss!

He's been gone for 9 days..... 9 extremely long, and boring days (for me, he was having adventures).

I swear that most of the time he's gone rather than being home. Thank heavens he isn't planning on going back to China for another 3 months. Hopefully he won't be going to any other countries between now and then either, because I don't want to share him with them.

I sure do love that face.... :)

Mmm... Chinese Food!

So, if you've ever met a Cunningham before then you know that they all have this intense love of all things Asian... which sort of works out for me because I've always loved Chinese food (and by Chinese food I mean Orange Chicken from Panda Express). The whole two weeks that we were in China I definitely didn't see any Orange Chicken..

We did get other awesome things... such as:

Because who wouldn't want an awesome boiled chicken leg floating around in their soup? yum...
34601_758684398399_17809301_40738114_7493223_n

These snails were quite delicious! (At least I thought so... Ammon thought they were gross). I especially liked the fact that you had to like stab the snail and scoop it out with a toothpick. Who wouldn't love that?
36457_758684188819_17809301_40738102_6959663_n

Have you ever craved a pastry filled with hot dogs and then covered with cheese and corn? If so, then looky what I have for you..... Yes please! :)
35842_758684029139_17809301_40738092_3571104_n

Tons and tons of desserts were filled with this weird red bean paste stuff... I thought it was gross. I'd definitely take chocolate over that ANY day. This is us showing off a red bean pastry thing... which I took like a little nibble of and then let Ammon have the rest. He's into that stuff.
35842_758684034129_17809301_40738093_5024606_n

So, Ammon loves these dumpling things more than anything else in the entire world. Including me. Not a joke. We searched everywhere for these things, and he dragged me through all of these scary back alley/sketchy streets til we found them....
35842_758684039119_17809301_40738094_5922932_n
They're basically dumplings filled with meat and broth... so you have to bite a little tiny piece off, suck out the broth, then eat them. They're extremely messy and sooo hot. Which is awesome because it's only like 90 degrees there everything with 100% humidity.. haha!

Moved!

So Ammon keeps bugging me about blogging about our trip to China this summer... but I really just don't want to. There's just so much to say about China, and I'm sure I'll get around to it one day... or just make Ammon do it. Yeah, that's probably what I'll do. :)

(Love you Ammon!)

But other big news in the Cunningham household....

... WE MOVED!!!

Oh man, we loooove our new place! And we're so very happy to be out of the Branbury. (No offense to the Branbury, we just couldn't have handled the smallness/darkness of it much longer).

We feel very lucky to have found our new apartment. We're in the basement of THE nicest couple of the face of the planet, like seriously... they're so nice. They even let us sit next to them at church. :)

Also, there's light down here... and we love being able to actually see each other at night... or during the day even.

We do miss our old ward and such, but we're sure that this is the best place for us right now. :)

ps.. I might actually post pics of it one day. Maybe.

Oh Colombia!

Alright, so because we've been married for almost a year. There have been A LOT of things that we've done that I want to blog about/remember forever/let random people read about.

One of those things was our vacation to Bogota, Colombia. Yes please. We absolutely 100% loved that place.

Ok, so I was super super terrified to go.. I mean, it IS Colombia. Whenever we told people that we were going there they'd instantly start rattling off every bad thing they'd ever heard of Colombia... or imagined about Colombia...

Most of these things involved drugs, and one of us ending up dead.

Comforting...

Then, to add to my intense fear, the Embassy in Colombia would send us random emails warning us to not roll our windows down in taxi's because there was a fear of people throwing bombs into our windows.

Not that they'd reach in and hit us, or stab us, or grab us through the window and then hold us for ransom.. Nope, bombs.

Luckily for us, we had no random taxi bombings... Dying in Colombia was definitely not on my Bucket List.

Anyway.. I'll just show you some pictures of the awesomeness of Colombia, so that you will be tempted to visit the country as well. :)

23596_736897359799_17809301_40066033_806278_n
Yummy, right? That's what we ate the very first morning there. Those flat-ish things are actually fried bananas.. I definitely thought they were weirdly dry pancakes when we first had them, yeah.. I was wrong.

This is us at the temple with Ammon's old mission buddy Andres and his new wife Laura. They were married the day before we got to Colombia, and instead of going on a honeymoon they hung out with us... lucky them! :)
23596_736897644229_17809301_40066078_217310_n
In our session we had to wear those little translator ear pieces so that we could actually understand the words to the session... sadly for me, mine didn't work the majority of the time, and since the only Spanish I actually know is counting from 1 to 10, I just sorta chilled and had to go with the flow. Thank heavens for the cute, old, chubby Colombian woman who sat next to me and basically just did everything for me during the session.

One of the nights that we were there we were able to eat at one of the top 10 restaurants in the world (according to like the NY Times.. or something like that). It had like a 20 page menu, and it's name meant like "Meat" in Spanish. And anywhere that's named "Meat" is good in my book.
23596_736897669179_17809301_40066081_4925154_n

On our way to the underground Salt Cathedral (yeah... it's awesome and massive, and has the largest underground Cross in the world... just in case you're ever wondering where that is. It's in Colombia.) we decided to stop and eat at a little restaurant on the side of the road... big mistake...

Here's Ammon with his Arepa (no idea if I spelled that right, if you're Colombian and you're reading this and you know the right spelling, let me know!) Burger.
23596_736897519479_17809301_40066056_7160786_n

And here's me with my thing.... It's very similar to an English muffin, filled with meat, topped with a boiled Quail egg, and then covered in fry sauce! Which is weird enough as it is, but then add in the fact that the fork that's closest to my face is FULL of loooong, nasty, black hair. Seriously... it was just like wrapped around the fork. Thinking about it still makes me gag.
23596_736897514489_17809301_40066055_277033_n

Ok, so we still have a toooon of pictures, and if you'd like to see some feel free to check out my Facebook. :) Seriously though, we loved our experience in Colombia, and we would totally totally recommend it to people. Especially if you're a meat lover. They had the hands down best meat I've ever had. :) Also, they had delicious Apple Soda. We drank gallons and gallons of it. :)

And I've now posted twice. Go me! :)

So this means we're really married...

Alright, so I finally gave in and decided to join the world of blogging... I mean, it was about time since Ammon and I have been married for almost one whole year! (I know, it's crazy to us too...)

I feel as if you can't really say that you're married until you have your own blogger account, so here we are! :) (Plus, some people wouldn't start their own blog until I did one... so now you have no excuse! You know who you are...)

Anyway, a little bit about us....

Ammon and I met in June of 2008 (we don't really remember the exact date anymore, because after the date neither of us wanted to remember it or the other person ever again...).

It was a sort of blind date, not because people set us up because they thought we'd be perfect together, but more like my roommate was going out on a blind date with his roommate and didn't want to go alone... so she literally begged me to go (and Ammon's roommate did the same to him). We went to Red Lobster, both of us hate seafood, and ate our non-fish meals in silence. Seriously. We didn't talk.

Then, we got ditched by our roommates, and after sitting awkwardly in silence some more at his apartment (luckily he had other roommates home watching some dance show so the awkwardness wasn't quite as obvious) we decided to find them so that I could go home... Luckily we sort of started talking at that point, and we each decided the other one was less lame than we originally thought, but still pretty lame.

Somehow we ended talking on Facebook and after some convincing Ammon and I continued to go on dates and somehow ended up being best friends. We even have Panda bear best friend key chains to prove it! :)

Then after about 7 ish months of dating/best friend-ing, Ammon decided that he was ready to move on with the relationship.. And get hitched... And I was most definitely not ready for that..

So he decided to move to China...

Yeah.

Apparently it seemed like the best option? But really, his parents were going over there, and his little sis was going over there, so he decided to go as well.

We decided that while he was gone we would try to figure out what we were going to do with ourselves. Honestly, about 3 minutes after I dropped him off at the airport I already knew that I was going to marry him... that I needed him in my life, and on my continent. :)

So after six months of him partying it up in China, and me being desperately lonely in Utah, he came back and we were engaged like 4 weeks later at the end of June. :)

It was fabulous!! He proposed IN the Oquirrh Mountain Temple... during the open house... he just broke into a room in the temple (apparently he got permission beforehand... but I was sorta panicked that he was actually breaking and entering in the temple) and popped the question. :)

We were then married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 9, 2009!! :) (We share our anniversary with my parents.. it's pretty sweet, and they were nice enough to 'share' their day with us.)

So that's basically how we became Mr. & Mrs. Cunningham.

Sorry for the epic post of lots of words and no pictures, next time I swear that it won't be nearly as long...

Hopefully I blog once in a while, although I'm not making any promises... This might be my only post.. ever. So enjoy it! haha! :)
