Moved!

So Ammon keeps bugging me about blogging about our trip to China this summer... but I really just don't want to. There's just so much to say about China, and I'm sure I'll get around to it one day... or just make Ammon do it. Yeah, that's probably what I'll do. :)

(Love you Ammon!)

But other big news in the Cunningham household....

... WE MOVED!!!

Oh man, we loooove our new place! And we're so very happy to be out of the Branbury. (No offense to the Branbury, we just couldn't have handled the smallness/darkness of it much longer).

We feel very lucky to have found our new apartment. We're in the basement of THE nicest couple of the face of the planet, like seriously... they're so nice. They even let us sit next to them at church. :)

Also, there's light down here... and we love being able to actually see each other at night... or during the day even.

We do miss our old ward and such, but we're sure that this is the best place for us right now. :)

ps.. I might actually post pics of it one day. Maybe.

Oh Colombia!

Alright, so because we've been married for almost a year. There have been A LOT of things that we've done that I want to blog about/remember forever/let random people read about.

One of those things was our vacation to Bogota, Colombia. Yes please. We absolutely 100% loved that place.

Ok, so I was super super terrified to go.. I mean, it IS Colombia. Whenever we told people that we were going there they'd instantly start rattling off every bad thing they'd ever heard of Colombia... or imagined about Colombia...

Most of these things involved drugs, and one of us ending up dead.

Comforting...

Then, to add to my intense fear, the Embassy in Colombia would send us random emails warning us to not roll our windows down in taxi's because there was a fear of people throwing bombs into our windows.

Not that they'd reach in and hit us, or stab us, or grab us through the window and then hold us for ransom.. Nope, bombs.

Luckily for us, we had no random taxi bombings... Dying in Colombia was definitely not on my Bucket List.

Anyway.. I'll just show you some pictures of the awesomeness of Colombia, so that you will be tempted to visit the country as well. :)

Yummy, right? That's what we ate the very first morning there. Those flat-ish things are actually fried bananas.. I definitely thought they were weirdly dry pancakes when we first had them, yeah.. I was wrong.

This is us at the temple with Ammon's old mission buddy Andres and his new wife Laura. They were married the day before we got to Colombia, and instead of going on a honeymoon they hung out with us... lucky them! :)

In our session we had to wear those little translator ear pieces so that we could actually understand the words to the session... sadly for me, mine didn't work the majority of the time, and since the only Spanish I actually know is counting from 1 to 10, I just sorta chilled and had to go with the flow. Thank heavens for the cute, old, chubby Colombian woman who sat next to me and basically just did everything for me during the session.

One of the nights that we were there we were able to eat at one of the top 10 restaurants in the world (according to like the NY Times.. or something like that). It had like a 20 page menu, and it's name meant like "Meat" in Spanish. And anywhere that's named "Meat" is good in my book.

On our way to the underground Salt Cathedral (yeah... it's awesome and massive, and has the largest underground Cross in the world... just in case you're ever wondering where that is. It's in Colombia.) we decided to stop and eat at a little restaurant on the side of the road... big mistake...

Here's Ammon with his Arepa (no idea if I spelled that right, if you're Colombian and you're reading this and you know the right spelling, let me know!) Burger.

And here's me with my thing.... It's very similar to an English muffin, filled with meat, topped with a boiled Quail egg, and then covered in fry sauce! Which is weird enough as it is, but then add in the fact that the fork that's closest to my face is FULL of loooong, nasty, black hair. Seriously... it was just like wrapped around the fork. Thinking about it still makes me gag.

Ok, so we still have a toooon of pictures, and if you'd like to see some feel free to check out my Facebook. :) Seriously though, we loved our experience in Colombia, and we would totally totally recommend it to people. Especially if you're a meat lover. They had the hands down best meat I've ever had. :) Also, they had delicious Apple Soda. We drank gallons and gallons of it. :)

And I've now posted twice. Go me! :)

So this means we're really married...

Alright, so I finally gave in and decided to join the world of blogging... I mean, it was about time since Ammon and I have been married for almost one whole year! (I know, it's crazy to us too...)

I feel as if you can't really say that you're married until you have your own blogger account, so here we are! :) (Plus, some people wouldn't start their own blog until I did one... so now you have no excuse! You know who you are...)

Anyway, a little bit about us....

Ammon and I met in June of 2008 (we don't really remember the exact date anymore, because after the date neither of us wanted to remember it or the other person ever again...).

It was a sort of blind date, not because people set us up because they thought we'd be perfect together, but more like my roommate was going out on a blind date with his roommate and didn't want to go alone... so she literally begged me to go (and Ammon's roommate did the same to him). We went to Red Lobster, both of us hate seafood, and ate our non-fish meals in silence. Seriously. We didn't talk.

Then, we got ditched by our roommates, and after sitting awkwardly in silence some more at his apartment (luckily he had other roommates home watching some dance show so the awkwardness wasn't quite as obvious) we decided to find them so that I could go home... Luckily we sort of started talking at that point, and we each decided the other one was less lame than we originally thought, but still pretty lame.

Somehow we ended talking on Facebook and after some convincing Ammon and I continued to go on dates and somehow ended up being best friends. We even have Panda bear best friend key chains to prove it! :)

Then after about 7 ish months of dating/best friend-ing, Ammon decided that he was ready to move on with the relationship.. And get hitched... And I was most definitely not ready for that..

So he decided to move to China...

Yeah.

Apparently it seemed like the best option? But really, his parents were going over there, and his little sis was going over there, so he decided to go as well.

We decided that while he was gone we would try to figure out what we were going to do with ourselves. Honestly, about 3 minutes after I dropped him off at the airport I already knew that I was going to marry him... that I needed him in my life, and on my continent. :)

So after six months of him partying it up in China, and me being desperately lonely in Utah, he came back and we were engaged like 4 weeks later at the end of June. :)

It was fabulous!! He proposed IN the Oquirrh Mountain Temple... during the open house... he just broke into a room in the temple (apparently he got permission beforehand... but I was sorta panicked that he was actually breaking and entering in the temple) and popped the question. :)

We were then married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 9, 2009!! :) (We share our anniversary with my parents.. it's pretty sweet, and they were nice enough to 'share' their day with us.)

So that's basically how we became Mr. & Mrs. Cunningham.

Sorry for the epic post of lots of words and no pictures, next time I swear that it won't be nearly as long...

Hopefully I blog once in a while, although I'm not making any promises... This might be my only post.. ever. So enjoy it! haha! :)
